SCHOOL DANCES

Dances begin promptly at 3:15 p.m. and end at 5:15 p.m.  Students are expected to stay the entire time.  Only in special situations are students allowed to leave early.  To secure an early release, a signed parent request must be presented to the assistant principal prior to the dance, and arrangements must be made to pick up the student in the office at the specified time.

Students are not required to wear school uniforms on dance days. Students must adhere to the S tudent Waiver Dress Policy (see Dress Code in student planner).

Backpacks are locked in the 200 and 300 buildings during the dances.  If there are activities that require extra money, students must get money out of their backpacks before they are locked up. Students may begin picking up backpacks at 5:15 p.m.

Students are expected to conduct themselves in an orderly manner.  Slam dancing, moshing, “freak dancing,” and horseplay are not allowed.

Students must be picked up after the dance promptly at 5:15 p.m.  These dances are made possible through the voluntary efforts of BYMS staff and parent chaperones; you can best show your appreciation for their efforts by extending them the courtesy of being picked up on time.  Students picked up unreasonably late may not be allowed to attend the next dance.
